Every major event in life has a back story, and ours, starts with our founder Nicole, or rather, Nikki as she prefers.

In 2015 I was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Yes! The dreaded “C” word. In an instant, when those words were uttered, my life was changed forever. I had test after test confirming the diagnosis.
But, God is GOOD! On the day of surgery, November 18, 2015, the doctor came into the room and told my family after eight hours of surgery that there was “No Cancer.” My family celebrated in praise. That was the beginning of me realizing God had bigger and better things planned for my life.
I started working on my mind, body, and soul. I had bariatric surgery and to date I have lost 162 pounds. I began to get into the Word and found my true calling and passion: serving others. I do that now through Byrd Nest Event Planning and Design.
My favorite scripture is "They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings of an eagle; they shall run and not be weary and they shall walk and not faint" (Isaiah 40:31).
Byrd Nest Events and Design was born from this scripture.
I have always had a knack for planning family gatherings and trips. I learned to love design and décor enhancement from my mother, who could make anything beautiful. Naturally, I apply this talent in my business, but I have also graduated from QC Event School with certifications for Event Planning, Wedding Planning, and Décor.
My love of taking a blank canvas and envisioning what it could be is what drives me. I love to see my clients' faces lighting up with surprise and amazement when they realize their dream is coming true.
