MOSQUITO REPELLANT

Mosquitoes can quickly end a fun day outdoors, especially in the warm, humid months Central Florida residents experience in the spring, summer, and early fall. While they are more prone to coming out at dusk or dawn, they can be present in dark or shaded areas like outdoor trails, screened porches, backyards with a lot of foliage, parks, and woods—even more so if these areas are close to a source of water, like a river, lake, or creek, that adds to the area’s humidity.
Aside from being annoying, mosquitoes “bite” to feed on a person or animal’s blood—an action which can transmit a number of diseases that mosquitoes can carry. The most prevalent of these are West Nile, Zika, and Malaria.

MOSQUITO CONTROL AND MANAGEMENT

If your Central Florida property has a water source or is near one, you likely have a mosquito problem. Other non-natural sources of water such as a leaky pipe or hose, garden pond, or pool can also attract and contribute to your troublesome mosquito problem. Mosquitoes lay their eggs on water, where they hatch in about 14 days, adding to your current mosquito population. These areas, when possible, should be adequately maintained and treated to eliminate the current mosquitoes and repel others from moving in.
